He was blessed with six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Andrew, Megan, Anna, Emily, and Grace. Siblings, Roland (Mariann) Barge and Janet (Stan) Perry, and many loving nephews. He then went to work at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a draftsman where he met his wife, Janet. He was drafted and served in the US Army as a radar instructor at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. After his military service, he returned to AT&T Bell Laboratories working in development and systems engineering for 35 years at Murray Hill, NJ, Holmdel, NJ, and Naperville, IL.

Bob grew up as an avid baseball fan, following the New York Yankees, coaching Little League Baseball in Naperville (IL) for over ten years, and later coaching his granddaughter’s Angola Kids League T-ball team.

He served on the senior advisory council for Aging & In-Home Services, representing Steuben County, and the Herrington Heights Homeowners Association Board.

Bob enjoyed spending time after retirement at baseball spring training in Tampa, FL, watching the Yankees, exercising at the YMCA, taking cruises around the Caribbean, and ballroom dancing. He loved his grandchildren and attended many of their sports games, ballet recitals, plays, and musicals.

We cherish the memory of the day we had with you in September, 1998, when you picked us up at Newark airport during a 10 hour stopover, and took us to visit the Statue of Liberty, and had a picnic in the grounds – a magical day, and very much appreciated. RIP Bob. From Marlene, Arthur and Paul Taylor. Willenhall, England.
